. . . Restate Commitment To Impact Every Community

The Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Samuel Egube, has restated the commitment of the present administration to impact every community of the State through adequate budget processing.

Egube, who disclosed this while rounding up the Year 2022 Budget Consultative Forum with stakeholders from Epe division of the State, pointed out that the 377 ward projects were initiated by the State Government to make sure that no community was left behind in the implementation of projects.

He listed some of the projects embarked upon by the State government in the 377 wards, based on the agreement of the communities with their council representatives, including Primary Health Care refurbishment, construction of local roads, drainages, water supply, school rehabilitation and public building rehabilitation among others.

The Commissioner said ongoing projects in Epe Division include the construction of a six-lane Lekki-Epe expressway from Eleko to Epe T-Junction, the MCC at Epe General Hospital, rehabilitation of Epe Grammar Schools (Junior & Senior), the building of special security posts at Epe Grammar School and rehabilitation of Odo-Obara High School among others.

While noting that there are also ongoing projects in Ibeju-Lekki and Agbowa-Eredo axis of the division, he disclosed that the State Government will, in the next budget year, improve on the existing infrastructure, especially road, schools, health and sporting facilities.

Egube also seized the opportunity of the forum to plead for the patronage of the State’s Health Insurance Scheme, saying the health plan reduces the cost of healthcare and enhances accessibility by the people.

Meanwhile, stakeholders at the meeting called for the rehabilitation of Ikorodu-Ikotun road, some internal roads, the building of more classrooms/schools and rehabilitation of the water corporation in the division among others.
