Mrs Simisola Otuyalo (nee) Fashola was born on the 29th of August, 1962 in Bournemouth (United Kingdom) to the Fashola family of Isalegangan, Lagos Island.
Her Primary education started in St Mary’s Catholic School Breadfruit Lagos Island and ended at St Clare’s Convent School, Oshogbo. She proceeded for her Secondary education at Our Lady’s Girls High School, Ife and went further to obtain her A’ Levels at Queens College, Yaba.
She was awarded obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons.) in Economics from the University of Maiduguri in 1984, after which she moved to the United Kingdom where she was certified a Stock Exchange and Investment professional in 1987. She later joined the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (UK) in 1990 and qualified as a Chartered Secretary in 1994. Mrs. Otuyalo started her working career with H.M Inspector of Taxes (UK) 1989-1994 when she returned to Nigeria.
In Nigeria, she worked with Credit Lyonnais Bank which later became Capital Bank International Nigeria Ltd where she worked in various sectors including Treasury – Head of Unit Institutional Investors, Head of Capital Market Unit in the Financial Services Department where she obtained her license to operate as a Stock Broker.
She joined the Lagos State Civil Service in July, 2006 as a Principal Planning Officer. She was Head Environmental and Regional Planning sector and later moved to Office of the Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Development. In 2008, she was appointed Summit Administrator a position she held till 2010. In her bid to further improve her expertise and career prospects, she enrolled with IP-Institute for Public-Private Partnerships, Washington (USA) and was certified as a Public-Private Partnership Professional in 2010. With the qualification at hand, she applied to the Lagos State Public Private Partnership Office as a Team Leader Risk Management and Compliance.
She later joined the main stream Civil Service in 2019 as an Assistant Director Planning and later rose to the rank of Deputy Director. She is the incumbent Director, Economic Planning.
Mrs. Otuyalo is married and blessed with Godly children.
